In addition to serving as a rescue organization for displaced dachshunds, HHDR specializes in helping families, and other rescues, work with their IVDD Dogs, injury rehabilitation, and other guidance.

Other services offered:

• Assistance with placement or adoption of family owned dachshunds, displaced by economy, finances or other hardships, non-dachshund breeds and other animals in distress or looking for a new home. Your dog must be completely vetted, to include vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip! Proof of ownership will also be required.
• Babysitting - some sitters are breed specific and subject to availability. We're also looking for more folks that are willing to pitch in during vacations and holidays. Contact Us for more information! The cost will be $15 per day, per dog.
• Weekly therapy training or in-home therapy for IVDD downed dacshhunds. This is subject to location and availability of therapist. The cost will be $50 per hourly/session. Weekly rates will be assessed as needed, with a maximum of 6-8 weeks allowed.
• Designing and engineering of temporary training or walking carts for those that need a rehab cart or cannot afford the permanent cart costs for their dogs. We will rent out available carts for $25 per week, with a 4 week, deposit.
• Consultations and referals to licensed trainers for basic training and/or behavioral/obedience issues with dachshunds.
• On-call support for those that need tips and suggestions to keep their dachshund at home, instead of surrendering them for issues that can be resolved with a little time, support and patience. Consistency is key, so be prepared to make a commitment to your dachshund before you call.
